Counseling with Dr. Paul Suich

First Presbyterian Church offers Christian counseling services and seminars for members of the church as well as the community. Our mission is to provide quality counseling that is informed by and consistent with Biblical principles, Christian heritage, and tested wisdom. We also work with area pastors, psychotherapists, physicians, and organizations to ensure that there are counseling options readily available that adhere to the Christian faith and address ongoing needs. If you are interested in counseling services or if wish to be added to our mailing list, we would like to hear from you. Contact Dr. Paul Suich, 686-7187, ext 293, or via email to .
Annual Seminar: It is our goal to offer an annual seminar provided by a highly skilled speaker addressing relevant issues to the growth of our congregation and community. We have had Dr. Larry Crabb, a nationally known author, professor, and speaker address us on congregational life, Dr. David Clarke who has also written many books on parenting and family life has given two of these seminars. Dr. Les Parrot, co-author of Saving Your Marriage Before it Starts spoke to us on marriage mentoring. We have had speakers on parenting children with ADHD, preparing for death and grief, and for teachers and parents of mentally ill children by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Premarital Counseling: It is the policy of the First Presbyterian Church to require that all engaged couples receive premarital counseling. There is a growing body of psychological research demonstrating reduced divorce and increased long-term marital satisfaction for those who participate in premarital counseling. The State of Florida has recently enacted legislation to support the goals of strengthening marriage as well. There are now two marriage licenses in Florida (Florida Statute 741.0305). If couples obtain four hours of premarital counseling, they are eligible for the newer marriage license (which costs $30 less than the older version). We offer our premarital counseling services for free, which include a pair of personality inventories because we want there to be no barriers to success. If the couple wishes to pursue more counseling or marriage counseling subsequent to the marriage, that too is available free of charge.
To register for premarital counseling, please call the Executive Secretary, Bev Jones, 863-686-7187 ext 232.
