Need Help?
We care about you!
First Presbyterian Church is a praying congregation, fulfilling the command in James to “pray for each other so that you may be healed.” Every other week a new prayer list is distributed with the needs and concerns of church members and non-members. Let us know your prayer request by calling 686-7187, ext. 233. Also, please include if you would like your prayer request to remain confidential or if you desire a pastor to call.
Counseling
First Presbyterian Church offers Christian counseling services and seminars for members of the church as well as the community. Our mission is to provide quality counseling that is informed by and consistent with Biblical principles, Christian heritage, and tested wisdom. We also work with area pastors, psychotherapists, physicians, and organizations to ensure that there are counseling options readily available that adhere to the Christian faith and address ongoing needs. If you are interested in counseling services or if wish to be added to our mailing list, we would like to hear from you. Contact Dr. Paul Suich, 686-7187, ext. 293, or via email to .
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministers are lay men and women especially trained to provide comfort and support in unsettling or challenging times. A Stephen Minister is someone who will meet regularly with a care receiver to support them and listen to their feelings in a confidential, sensitive and non-judgmental way. For more information, call Pastor Cecelia Moore, 863-686-7187 ext 233 or email
Vine Cares
This ministry strives to make Jesus real for others by caring for one another through acts of service when the going is rough. If you are going through illness, recovery from surgery or injury, job loss, the birth of a child, a death in your immediate family, divorce of separation, or moving, Vine Cares can be there for you. Volunteers prepare meals, babysit, give rides, send cards, help with household repair or cleaning, and a host of other acts of service as needed. Let us know if you can be a care-giver, or need to be a care-receiver, by contacting or marking your info card at Vine's worship gathering on Sundays.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Women of the church offer their time and prayers in creating shawls to be given to those walking through difficult times in their lives, specifically serious illness or health problems, as well as mourning the loss of a loved one. Recipients are lifted up in prayer while the shawls are knitted or crocheted, and it is our hope they experience comfort in their time of need when the shawls are delivered. Please refer requests to the church office at 863-686-7187, Betsy Agey at 813-788-9155, Milly Lenhart 863-701-2777 or Marilyn Leonard 863-646-0132.
