Children's Ministry
We serve children from birth to 5th Grade with a variety of different programs events and summer activities. Our parents are involved in their children's faith and all parents are invited to participate in their child's Sunday School Class, Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, and Kid's Club.
Nursery
We offer babysitting services during our Sunday morning services from 8:00 a.m. to Noon with qualified sitters for those children from birth to 4 years old. The purpose of our Nursery is to provide each child with a safe, clean, loving environment and to express the message of God's love through Jesus Christ. The Nursery is manned by a minimum of 2 sitters at all times. At no time will children be left unattended. Parents are given a beeper in case the Nursery worker needs them. By providing the Nursery, we hope to give parents the assurance that their children are well taken care of so that their worship experience may be enhanced.
Elementary Sunday School - Grades Kindergarten to 5th Grade, participating in PowerXpress curriculum, which is a form of a rotation model. The children will rotate with their grade level through four workshops ove a four week period studying the same Bible story in each workshop. Each workshop classroom is unique in decor and furniture. The students experience (taste, see, hear, touch, interpret) the same story for four weeks. The four workshops include Art, Audio-Visual, Music and Games and a Computer Lab.
Program Details
We start the Sunday School hour with Assembly in our Bell Choir Room at 9:15 where we emphasize the worship elements of prayer giving, and God's Word during our Sunday School time. The children are then taken to their designated class room by the Shepherd who checks them in and helps assist the Sunday School teacher. Sunday School ends at 10:15 a.m. and the children are released to the parent.
Pre-school Sunday School is also offered for those children ages 3 and 4 using the "Hands On Bible" curriculum at the same time as Elementary Sunday School from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
FPC also offers a weekday preschool called Little Shepherds. Explore this section of the website to find activities to fit your family. The most important things we want to teach your child is that God loves them, your children are valuable, and the Bible is Truth. Our teachers and volunteers use art, music, drama, hands-on activities and games to teach, interact, and love your child. Many lasting friendships are made in this program as parents and children grow together discovering God's Word.
