Piano Recital featuring Dr. Howard Kim

First Presbyterian Church presents a special recital to benefit the FPC piano fund, featuring Dr. Howard Kim, assistant professor at Southeastern University.
A native of Los Angeles, California, Howard Kim has been performing publicly since the age of eight. His teachers include Dorothy Hwang, Antoinette Perry, Aube Tzerko, and Rebecca Penneys. While completing the doctoral program at the Eastman School of Music, he was awarded the Performer's Certificate.
Dr. Kim has won numerous awards and honors, including 2nd Place and Audience Favorite Prize at the Josef Hofmann International Piano Competition and Festival, and the Ozelle Rubenstein Chamber Music Prize at the International Young Artists Peninsula Music Festival as part of the Colburn Piano Quintet. He has been a featured soloist with orchestras, most recently with the Imperial Symphony Orchestra.
At Southeastern University, Dr. Kim is assistant professor in the Department of Music. He also has served as opera coach for Opera Rochester and Southeastern University musical theatre and opera productions. He has previously served as a faculty member of Nazareth College and as a guest lecturer at Eastman School of Music's Summer Piano Festival.
